A lil overwhelming!!!

Wow, so I'm a lil freaked out right now after my 36 week dr's app. I've just had an outter body experience & been given a lot of scary info in such a short time frame. I've just expected to have a completely normal pregnancy, which it basically has been up until now, so today really caught me off guard. Well, J & I got to my app. @ 4 & they got me back and weighed me & the nurse took my BP and said it was a lil higher than normal (it was 138 over st?). Then my PA came in and acted concerned ab it and wanted to take it again. It was still high. I told her I didn't sleep well last night & had a long hard day at work today but she still seemed concerned. I told her I wasn't having any headaches or blurred vision or anything. She told me she wanted me to go ahead and quit working which just kinda took me by surprise (one of many surprises I got at this app). Then it was time for my Group B Strep test where she had to swab my cervix (fun stuff). After that she wanted to check me. Geez that hurt...not quite as bad as it did on Fri when I got check on L&D tho. To my surprise she said I was 1 cm dilated & ab 25% effaced! Which means I dilated a cm over the w/e b/c on Fri the nurse told me I was completely closed. Kaye (my PA) told me she could feel the baby (which J thought was really cool). She thought what she felt was the head b/c she thought she could feel the fontanel but wasn't 100% sure. I hope she's right tho b/c I have still been thinking he's still breeched. After all this she told me to get back dressed and she wanted me to lie down and relax for a few mins and she wanted to check my BP one more time. So I did. J joked around w/ me to try and relax me some cuz he could tell I was worried. When she came back in & checked it the 3rd time it was even higher tho...138/84. UGH! She then decided she wanted me on bedrest! She said I can either lay in bed or on the couch & I can get up to use the bathroom & get st to eat & all that, but other then that, she wants me relaxing. J tried to make light of it and joke that "Well, hey Baby, that's right up your alley!" But I'm like "Ummm, no, it's a lil dif when it's dr's orders to not work & go on bedrest." It's not like I'm just off work & chillin on the couch...it's dr's orders now & that scares me a lil. My next scheduled app wasn't suppose to be til next Mon, but she told me she wants me to come back on Wed for an US & to recheck my BP. I'm feeling very anxious ab all this right now...which I'm sure isn't helping my BP! :-/ I just feel guilty. Like is all this b/c I haven't been exercising or eating healthy enough??? I just feel like I'm hurting my baby...even tho I know it's not my fault...I still can't help but think like that. And then, on top of all this, J is supposed to leave on Thur night to go to Harrisburg, PA for his game this w/e. He'll be gone from Thur night til Sun late afternoon...yep, no Easter w/ my hubby :-( So now it's kinda up in the air until we find out more on Wed if he'll still leave on Thur w/ the team, or if he'll fly up on Sat (which would be awfully expensive!), or if he'll even go at all. I don't want G to have to come this soon, but I dunno what the dr will do if my BP is still up & I DO NOT want J to miss the birth!!! So there ya have it...a lot of info to absorb & I'm feeling a bit freaked out but I know I need to try and relax. Please be praying for us. I just want my baby boy to be healthy & fine! Here are last night 36 wk pics...and yes, I've officially stolen J's clothes lol! But, can ya tell I've got a lil tan going on? Layed out on Sat & it felt great!

Trip to the hospital...

I just got home from the hospital...no need to worry, everything is just fine. I got a lil suspicious this morn when I felt a slight "gush" as I was changing positions in bed (which is a difficult task these days lol). I contemplated calling or just ignoring it since sometimes I tend to over-worry ab things. Mom talked me into calling Tidwell's office so I did & the nurse told me I needed to go up to L&D and get checked to be sure it wasn't my water leaking. So, then I automatically started feeling stupid like I was gonna waste everyone's time & it was gonna be nothing & I was gonna look silly. Anywho, I jumped in the shower & got ready & met mom up at the hosp. Told J not to worry ab coming since Mom could & he was majorly busy at work. I got up to the floor & they had me change into a gown, get in bed & hooked me up to the monitors. I didn't expect all that. I figured I'd just go in & they'd do a lil swab & tell me I wasn't leaking & that would be it. But I had to lay there w/ the baby's HR monitor & a contraction monitor strapped to my belly for 20 mins. Which by the way I wasn't having contractions. I immediately got a smile on my face as soon as I heard G's heartbeat. We could hear him moving around too. They asked me a ton of questions, then the nurse had to check me to see if my bag of water had in fact ruptured. WOW! Did that hurt! I had no clue it was gonna hurt like that...I just figured it may be a bit uncomfy...but no, it HURT! She had me cough quite a few times w/ her "hand in there" and she confirmed that I was closed & she didn't see or feel any water leaking. So, to sum it up...my water is not leaking & everything is just fine. I'm cramping a bit & have a it of spotting now which she said would be completely normal after she checked me. I felt relieved & didn't feel stupid like I thought I would...mainly b/c the nurses were very nice & made me feel like if I ever had any sorta suspicion to come on in so they can check it out & that it's completely normal to worry like this w/ a 1st pregnancy. My blood pressure was a lil high at one point which worried the nurse. It was like 135/95 I think??? So she had me flip to my left side & took it a few more times & it came way down & ended up being just fine as well so they told me a was free to go. So me & mom went & had a nice quick lunch at CiCi's...yum! So, Baby G & myself are doing good...just wanted to share my experience. Here's a couple pics mom took:

Belly Laugh!

So, I just had the best belly laugh ever! First off, happy April Fool's Day to everyone! I just pulled off my AFD joke on my mom! So simple yet worked like a charm. I called her w/ a serious voice saying "Mom, my water just broke!!!" She freaked out & was headed down the stairs at her office when I started hysterically laughing! She yelled "Sarah Blanton! Sarah Blanton!" Haha! I love it! I laughed for a good 5 mins! The women in the office next to my mom's were laughing at her. Mom said "Well, let me go change my pants, cause my water just broke!" LOL! That just made my day! :-)
So, I'm at 35 weeks and 3 days today. I've gained 30 lbs even. My hands are a bit swollen so my wedding rings are officially off which makes me sad & I feel naked w/o them. My feet sweet at the end of the day but not too noticably. I'm feeling ok, just very tired and run down from being quite busy these past few days.
My big baby shower was this past Sat March 28th and it was awesome! Thanks Crystal & Michele!!! The weather couldn't have been worse...pouring rain, thundering & lightening...so I wasn't really expecting too many ppl to show up. But the turnout was great & I got tons of great things and had a wonderful time! The food, the cake and the company was perfect! After the shower mom & I went shopping w/ the gift cards & money I got which was tons of fun! I was quite tired Sat night but had to get everything organized so mom & I put stuff up while we listened to the Lion's game on the comp. They were away in Florence, SC and they lost. So, their record is 2-1 now. They won away, won here at home and then lost away, and have their 4th game here at home this Sat against Baltimore! GO LIONS!
My baby shower @ work was this past Mon March 30th. It was a double baby shower for me & April who is 6 weeks behind me. It was so much fun! Everyone was so thoughtful bringing lots of yummy food and fun gifts! I just feel so blessed to have gotten so much from so many ppl. We have almost everything we need now for Baby G and it's a huge load off our backs! God is so so good!
So needless to say w/ all these awesome gifts we've received...my nesting instinct has kicked into overdrive! I've been washing G's clothes, putting things away, putting things together, reading instructions on things, etc. It's been fun but I'm pretty tired from it all.
I go see Dr. Tidwell on Mon April 6th which will be the start of my weekly visits. Well, here are my 34 & 35 weeks belly shots & pics from my showers will follow in the next post!
Here's one to make you giggle...lol!
