It's 2009???

Um, so yeah, apparently I missed the memo that it's well into 2009 right now seeing as how I insist on still putting 2008 on my belly pic signs lol. So the one taken last night says Feb 8th 2008. My bad! Just proves that the blood really is shunted from your brain to you uterus when you're preggo! Anywho, just got home from the doc & all went well. Drank my lil orange glucola drink which was kinda like SunKist, just way grosser (is that a word? lol). I had to hold my nose to get it down it was so ick. But this is coming from a girl who practically refuses to take any liquid meds...pill form please! Well I had to wait an hour for my bloodwork to be drawn & in that time the drink was making me feel not so great. I got hot & nauseous & kinda dizzy sitting in the waiting room. I asked if I could have a sip of water & apparently that is illegal, so the answer was no lol. Well, they finally got my blood drawn & I finally got me some water & felt better almost immediately. Then I went to see Dr. Tidwell & G's HR was 148 & he kicked while she had the doppler on my belly so I heard it which was cool. My BP was fine 110/70. She said they'd only call me if my blood sugar was high so hopefully I wont be getting a phone call. I asked a few questions & that was it. She told me that my dizzy episodes were prob normal but to call if they

got worse or kept up real bad.

Well, I'm going to enjoy the rest of my day off & chill here w/ Puddy. Here's a couple pics from today. Have a good one!

3rd Trimester already!

Hi all! Well, let me 1st apologize for missing my post last Sun. I got rather sick after the Super Bowl last Sun night. I came home from our lil shin-dig @ Mom & Dad's (where else?) after halftime b/c I had to be up @ 5 for work & took a shower. Then I had one of my dizzy/orthostatic hypotensive spells when I got out. I've had a few of em & they are scary & I feel like I'm gonna pass out & then when I get over it I just feel like crap basically. Had to call outta work the next morn & everything. Then the rest of the week I was just so tired from working.

Well let's see, I'm up to 19 lbs now...ahhhh! I guess that's pretty normal. I'm def feeling the weight gain too. It is quite difficult for me to get up from my chaise lounge and certainly from the floor. I've been feeling pretty good this week besides just feeling tired. I had a hard night last night though. Pregnancy insomnia is kicking in & I DO NOT like it. I could not get comfy to save my life last night. My belly felt so full even though I hadn't eaten like a huge meal or anything. And I just felt this pressure on my diaphragm that was making it hard to breathe. No position helped, even propping myself up. I finally fell asleep around 2 am then was back up wide awake @ 4:30 am on my laptop & eating poptarts in bed (lol) then went back to sleep around 8ish. Then got up this morn @ 10 am. I have felt completely fine today though & I'm not even too sleepy tonight and it's 10 pm.

I'm off work tom & have a doctor's app. I have to do the whole glucola drink thingy to test for gestational diabetes. The drink they gave me is orange flavored & I;m hoping it wont be too gross. I have to be there w/i an hour of drinking it for them to take the blood work.

My lil homeboy is certainly growing & getting bigger! It's obvious from my ordeal last night w/ being short of breath b/c he is hogging up my whole belly now...he only has room to grow outward now which means I'm expecting a noticable change in my belly size here soon. His kicks are much harder now-a-days. I still love to feel him, don't get me wrong, but it can get a bit uncomfortable at times. He's very active when I get in bed most nights. We have a lil game we play together some nights too...J will be asleep & the lights are out & I don't wanna wake him so I'll just use the light from my cell to see...but I'll lay on my right side & G will be justa kicking and I'll push back w/ my hand in the spot where he kicks and I can actually feel his lil precious feet move across my side. It's so cool. But we'll do that for quite a few mins & it's fun & I just lie there & smile. He's gotten in this weird habbit of kicking me (HARD!) in the same exact spot a lot of the time when I go to sit down to pee (sorry TMI lol). I'm like "Dude, chill out!" Speaking of peeing...good grief I now realize the truth in what ppl tell you ab having to pee every 10 mins literally! I can feel G karate chopping my bladder sometimes & oh goodness, when he's sitting on it...I look like I'm ab to give birth running to the bathroom...and of course hardly any pee even comes out! I'm very excited b/c my baby shower plans are in the works by my great friends. It's prob gonna be the end of March.

Me & J have been doing a lil home improving last w/e and this w/e. Last w/e we FINALLY painted our den & hallway! Mom helped which saved time. It looks so good. We chose a tan/beige color. You can actually see our crown molding now! Before the paint was the cheap white chalky contractor paint they slap on when they remodel houses. It was all stained up & jusy ick (compliments of Cramer). I was so happy to get nice paint on these walls. It looks so so good! And I like being in here more now. We're painting out bedroom next w/e. We did a lil shopping too & got some new furniture & accessories. We got a kitchen table & chairs for our kitchen nook (finally), 2 ladder bookcases (to replace our old ugly hand-me-down ones), an entertainment cabinet (which J loves cuz he finally hooked up our surround sound), a cool big wall clock, some funky new pillows, and some other accesories. We rearranged the den too so now it looks like a nice decorated space instead of just a buncha stuff we had thrown together in a room to make the room useable. We love it. I still have a list of things we need to purchase but just can't do it all at once. I'll post some pics so you can see what I'm talking ab, but there's this great big wrought iron wall hanging that I wanna hang above the ent. cabinet. It holds 4 pics and 3 candles (I think) & it's so perty! I wanna put some framed wedding pics in certain spots on the walls. Then we also need 2 black end tables. So it's not quite complete but it still looks great. I just can't wait to do our bedroom and get the bedding ensemble I've had my eye on @ BB&B for a while now & get some nice stuff hung on the walls in there. All our furniture is mismatched and old, but paint & new bedding will make a huge difference.

Our new kitchen table wont be here for a week prob so I'll get a pic of that when we get it. But for now, here are our 27 week & 1 day pics (since I was sick last Sun, we took em on Mon & I looked hideous b/c I still didn't feel too great), our 28 weeks pics & pics of the den & hallway. And I think I'm gonna make the pics a lil smaller this time since there's so many to post. I had a great dinner out w/ my HS friends tonight & now I'm just chillen & our new den watching TV. 26 wk scare (just me being an obsessive worrier)

Ok, so wow...yeah I just had myself a lil episode. I'm fine now so thought I would blog ab it so I can look back & remember this event even though it was bad at first it ended up just fine. So, basically all w/e G has just been very quiet & not as active & I've noticed it & it's kinda bothered me here & there but I've just been telling myself that he's just being lazy this w/e. Well, I was just laying here on the couch & this is the time of evening that he would normally be most active & squirming all around. Normally I would be able to see him kicking from the outside this time of evening. I got to thinking & I realized that I hadn't felt him move really ALL night. So I started getting myself worked up & scared. I played music for him, talked (loudly) to him, pressed on him to wake him up if he was sleeping and I was getting no response what-so-ever from him. NOT a good feeling. I was getting way worried! I just felt like st was not right. I told J how I was feeling & he kept telling me that G is fine. I called Mom & she suggested I drink a coke. So I had J run over to her house to get a coke since the only ones I have a non caffinated. I started drinking my coke & just kept working myself up & of course started crying w/ all these crazy thoughts running through my head. J came over & started talking to him. He was telling him that he was upseting Mommy lol. I asked him for just one kick so I knew he was there & ok. I honestly think he knew that he was worrying his mommy cause sure enough, w/ J's hand on my belly I thought I felt st! I moved his hand real quick & put mine in the spot & there he was! He kicked! Ahhhh...what a relief! I was so happy! My lil man is ok & now I'm ok. Scary thoughts were going through my mind that I never wanna think of again! I've just gotten so used to him moving & kicking & when he is most active that when I don't feel him it bothers me. I guess I need to realize that he'll have lazy days just like his mama. He's still not jumping all around like he normally does this time of night. I think he woke up for a min to give me a few lil pokes & kicks to let me know "Mommy, I'm fine! Now leave me alone!" & then went on back to sleep lol! I know I made a bigger deal out of this than need be, but I couldn't help it. I feel a lil silly ab it now, but who cares. I don't care how big of an idiot I look like at times by being over-worrisome or over-protective, as long as I know my baby is ok.

Ok, so that was my ordeal & everything is fine, so now I'll blog...

Tonight we had The Lions' Madden '09 Tournament @ Buffalo Wild Wings. It was fun but I had to leave early b/c I pigged out on wings, fries & dessert & I was quite uncomfy sitting there w/ my extremely full belly. So, I left J there & came on home to chill w/ my boys & wait for the heartburn to go away. Ppl have told me that heartburn means the baby will have a head full of hair when he come out so we'll see. Weight gain is @ 16.5 lbs today. I woke up one morning this week & notcied my belly button is starting to pop out, or so it looks. I dunno if it will actuallu pop out or just become flush w/ my belly. Went to the doc on Mon. G's HB was 140 & he was moving all around. I'm getting so anxious about the birth. In a good way! I'm not scared in the least...yet, just so ready for April/May to be here. I'm ready for warm weather...I'm ready to lay out in the warm sun & get a tan...& I'm ready to meet this wonderful lil man! I've got 14 weeks to go, if I go full term. Don't get me wrong, I am enjoying this pregnancy even though I complain ab plenty of things (nausea, fatigue, heartburn, sore achey back, blah blah blah lol!). I don't want time to fly by, b/c even though I'm sure (I hope) I'll be pregnant again in a few years...I'll never get to experience THIS pregnancy w/ THIS baby again. I'm just ready to meet him and see what he looks like & have him in my arms. I love him so much already, but I know that what I'm feeling for him now won't hold a candle to the emotions I'll have for him the 1st time I see his precious face! Ahhh, it's gonna be too amazing! Well, I'll end here w/ our 26 wk shots. Oh, and I want to give a big congrats to my cousin & his beautiful wife who just found out they are expecting triplets! Wow, I can't even imagine! Please be praying for them, their lil baby girl Harper, and the 3 lil bundles of joy incubating in her belly!

25 weeks!

Hope everyone had a great w/e. We did. Lazy as usual & we watched movies yesterday. Not too much to update this week. The heartburn hasn't been bad lately at all thank goodness. I have actually lost a lb this week. So my total weight gain now is 15.5 lbs. Thurs night J, myself, Mom, daddy & GM all went to Birmingham to see Celine Dion in concert. While you wont hear J or Dad brag ab the event (lol), it was a great show. She puts on a wonderful performance. We had a nice time even though it started out rough w/ the arena being ab 90 degrees (literally). It was really hard for me to sit there, but luckily it did cool down & I was fine. I'm pretty sure G can hear now b/c he's just made a few kicks here & there in response to my voice and he was kicking up a storm at the concert so I think he could hear the music. Kinda cool to think ab! It's so weird b/c the other day I was watching some of my random "baby shows" as I like to call them; the kind that come on TLC and Discovery Health. We were seeing preemie babies born at 25 wks and I was like wow that's what my lil boy looks like right now inside my uterus. Crazy! Last night J & I could feel him on the left side of my belly. I think I could feel his lil bum lol...too cute!!! He's so active & I feel him move & kick all the time now & I love it! We go to the doc tom afternoon & I will be registering at the hospital this week for the birth. Have a great week everyone & I'll be back next Sun unless I feel the need to update before then! 24 week updates

So, I woke up this morning w/ achey hips (esp. my left one) & w/ 2.5 wonderful new lbs on my body! I gained 2.5 lbs literally overnight! Crazy! If I keep gaining like this I'm in trouble! So I'm at a grand total of 16.5 lbs so far. I suppose my hips are widening and preparing for birth already. It's mostly my left hip but they ache while I sleep.

The nursery is coming along. We've had many troubles w/ the paint color but finally got it done w/ a final coat yesterday. Mom & J put the boarder up today & it look great! It was a 2 person job & we all figured it would be best for us all if I stayed out! LOL! I tend to get a lil nit picky and aggrevated seeing the process of things like that being done in my house. We got all the furniture moved back into place & it just made me smile. I can really see what the final product will look like now even though we still have things to get including the rocker/glider & ottoman. A great girl at work gave me a mattress that her adorable daughter (who's 7 now) barely even used. It's a really nice one & it fits and I'm just so thankful that we don't have to go buy one. I still need to wash & iron some things, but we put the bedding on to see what it looks like & I'm so happy w/ the jungle theme. We also bought G another piece of furniture. I felt we needed a lil more drawer space & I found this great chest at a wholesale furniture store for a good price. It has 6 drawers and I just love it. We're still contemplating whether we're gonna need to paint the trim and closet doors in the nursery white. Right now it's a beige/off white color throughout the whole house. I thought it would clash w/ G's very white furniture, but it's really not even noticable. But I'll decide this week and J may have another job on his hands for next w/e ;-). We'll have to get some new blinds in there too if we do the trim & stuff white b/c the blinds are Alabaster in color.

A delightful new preggo symptom has come about this week: heartburn! Ugh, it's awful! I never knew heartburn was so painful, but dangit...it hurts! I describe it as a cute lil Indian man sitting well...Indian style of course...in my stomach w/ a fire burning & he's blowing the hot hot smoke up my esophagus. Lol...may sound silly, but that's what it feels like! It comes & goes. And when it comes, it's just out of the blue. It's difficult when I'm at work in a case. My wonderful coworkers went & got me some Tums from the gift shop & brought to me in OR 7 last Wed when it started. Tums really do help, but I'm not exactly fond of the texture when chewing them up. Other than the heartburn though, I've been feeling pretty good this week.

Mom & J both finally saw Lil Gib move! We were over at Mom & Dad's Thur night, the 8th, watching the Nat'l Championship game (yay for Tim Tebow!) & I told Mom to come over & feel my belly cause G was kicking up a storm. I was laying on my right side and she came over to feel him & ended up seeing him kick as well. She was so excited. Then yesterday, the 10th, J had his hand on my belly feeling him & he was kicking pretty hard so I told him to watch in a certain spot & sure enough he was able to see it twice. He thought it was cool. I'm waiting to let Daddy see & feel cause he'll be inpatient w/ it & I wanna wait til G's bigger & he's guarenteed to feel & see it at any given time.

We've just had yet another lazy, relaxing w/e. Those are my fav kind! W/ the exception of Mom falling on the curb today in front of their house on the way from our house. Poor thing scared the ba-geezies outta me! She got a gash on her right arm and a scrape on her knee. I cleaned her up a bit but we thought she needed stitches & she of course refused to go to the ER so I took her to her office & Dr. Josh cleaned it up & put some steri strips on her gash. But she's fine now & all is well thank the Lord.

Oh, dunno if ya noticed, but my stupidity shows in last week's belly shots as I put Jan 4th 2008 as the date on my sign...2009 just sounds weird! Oh well, too late to correct now but will make for a good laugh when we look back. But I've got the right date on my sign tonight ;-) & I'm also posting some shots of the very cute, but still unfinished nursery. My belly looks squareish from the right side shot but nice & round from the left.

G's new chest & awesome dresser/hutch/changing table minus the changing pad w/ monogrammed cover. Both of which we still have to get! We'll put some cute baskets & stuff on the shelves to hold diapers and wipes & stuff.

J draped one of the valences up so I could see how it will look. We need to get a rod still. On the wall to the left of the window we'll hang some fabric wall plaques that match the bedding & have the animals on them. The monkey is my fav! So cute!

I ordered a light switch plate today that is handmade & too adorable. It has all the animals & says "G______'s Room at the bottom. Obviously, his whole name will be spelled out but it's a SECRET so I can't tell! :-) But, I think it looks great & am so excited for our lil man to arrive and see it!

New page, new haircut & new lbs!

1st off, hope you like my newly decorated page! :-D

So, yep, I got my hair ALL chopped off! No j/k. But I did get ab 3&1/2 inches cut off. I did it yesterday & took mom w/ me for moral support lol. It took a lot for me to do it since I have had my hair so long for such a long time, and even though I did really love my hair long, I was bored w/ it & needed st new. It's kinda still the same haircut, just shorter. I still fix it the same way, flip over & blowdry then curl w/ a 2" barrell curling iron that I love! I dont know yet if I like it better now or not...but I figured hey I might as well do it now so that if I want to grow it back out now's the best time since I'm preggo & hair tends to grow faster. But I do like it. Speaking of hair, geez has it grown on my belly. I hate it! I used to just have a lil bit of cute blonde hair on my stomach which was barely noticable & just glistened in the sun while laying out. But now, uhhh it's dark and up toward the top of my stomach more. So, I've told you ab my new haircut, so onto my new lbs! Last week I had gained 11 lbs. Well as of this morning, I have now gained 14! Wow! I gained 3 lbs in one week! Kinda scary but expected I suppose. I'm just hoping I won't go over 35-40 lbs total in the end. I've kinda started thinking ab how I'm going to look after birth. I certainly have not exercised in the least during this pregnancy. I never did before either. Nor have I eaten healthy either. I eat what I crave, not what I should unfortunately. But mom has assured me that lil G is getting the nutrients he needs so not to worry. Plus i take my prenatals every morn of course. But, I guess I'll worry ab how I look after & hopefully I won't look too bad so I can throw on a swimsuit & lay out & get in the pool! I'm so ready for Spring/Summer to get here so I can get some sun. I feel so pale. I realize I don't need to be as dark as I used to get, but I would still like that sun-kissed glow.

Well, the nursery is painted, but unfortunately we realized today after it was all dry that it needs one more coat. J's not so happy ab it but agrees. We are ordering the boarder today as well so he can get that up. We had a trying time w/ the paint color. We took G's bedding to Home Depot to have the color match system match up the yellow exactly. Well, it looked fine from the lil spot they put on the top of the can. But, once J got it on the walls yesterday, it def was not the right color. It was like a greenish yellow. Not the powder, baby yellow we wanted. So, even though it was matched directly from the bedding, it was way way off. So we headed back to the Depot to get another color. We took the bedding but just picked out a color that we thought would match, w/ the help of the lady working. The color is called Cornsilk. It turned out just right. Looks so much better! I'm ready for it to be dry so we can move the furniture back into place & see how it all looks.

It's getting harder & harder for me to sleep. I'm so uncomfortable. I sleep w/ 2 king sized long pillow on either side of me. I hike my leg up on one & tuck it under my tummy and prop the other one behind my back. I feel bad, but I have yet to use the Snoogle pregancy body pillow J got me. I'll have to wait til I'm only comfy sleeping on one side b/c it will prevent me from flipping back & forth. Right now I'm ok sleeping on my left or right side. I'm done w/ sleeping on my back though. When I do, I get this weird feeling b/c of my vena cava being pressed on by my uterus. And G starts kicking letting me know he's not getting enough bloodflow either. Poor lil guy lol. Getting up from a sitting position is pregrassively getting harder & I know it's only going to get much worse. Bending over is getting difficult as well. Shaving my legs does not come easy anymore!

I have had such an awesome break from work during the holidays. But, gotta head back tom :-( But that's prob better b/c I need to get my butt up & do st productive lol. I can't believe it's 2009! This is the year my son will be born! How crazy is that?!? I'm so excited. May 3rd is not too far away now & I wonder all the time when G will decide to make his debut. I just pray that J is in town & not away for a game!!! I'm getting excited ab his season starting though. His 1st homegame is on March 22nd. Everone keeps joking that my water will break at one of his games lol. He does have a homegame the night before G's due date. So, we'll see. That would make for a fun story though!

I see you!

22 weeks today! I've gained ab 11 lbs. Yesterday was a rough one. I did NOT feel well AT ALL! But J took good care of me. I'm much better today. So, I forgot to mention this in my last post, but J & I both felt G move from the outsdie w/ our hands last Mon the 22nd. It's so cool to feel him. He seems to be the most active in the evening starting ab 6ish. I can feel him so well on the inside now. He's a busy lil man in there. Even more fun, I saw him move from the outside on Fri night. It was awesome! J had gone to bed & I was in the den on the couch watching tv. I just kept feeling him kicking & poking me pretty darn strong. So, I decided to turn on the lights and lie there and watch my belly closely...and sure enough I saw him! My skin on my belly popped up ever so slightly. I saw him kick probably 5 or 6 times that night & have seen him yesterday & today. It's so subtle though that J nor Mom can see it yet. It's easy for me to see b/c I feel the kick & know exactly where it's at. But, they will see him kick soon & I can't wait to videotape it too! We haven't gotten the nursery painted yet w/ me being sick yesterday & football all day today so we're planning on tackeling it next w/e. But, the furniture is here & soooo beautiful. The dresser/hutch & crib are so so nice & we couldn't be more pleased. We still have to get a mattress though b/c we thought it came w/ the crib since the girl at "That's Our Baby" told us it did. Well, I just got out of the shower & J & I are going to play some Dominos. Here are mine & Lil Gib's 22 weeks pics. The line on my belly is so obvious in person but just doesn't quite show up in pics yet. And my belly looks flat in the front...kinda funny looking lol. Have a great week everyone!
