Merry Christmas!

Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas & holiday! We certainly did! Our trip to VA for Christmas w/ the Gibson side was awesome. They threw me a surprise baby shower! My very 1st one...so much fun! I had no clue & J was able to keep it a secret from me for a while. We got some really great things for the baby & are so thankful to everyone. We played Dirty Santa w/ a group of prob 30 ppl & it was so much fun & just hilarious. It was a w/e of great family & great fun! We got to see our good friends Scott, Brenda & their son Will on our way up which was nice. We watched Will practice hockey & it made me think of how I'm so happy we're having a lil boy & I hope he's into sports...for J's sake lol! The trip back on Sun was quite long. We got on the road @ 9am & arrived home around 8:30pm w/ a few stops for gas, food & potty breaks for me of course ;-) I was off work Mon & Tue & basically just sat around the house & relaxed. I did do a lil shopping for stocking stuffers though. J worked Mon & Tue. And we've both been off since Wed. We hung out all day @ Mom & Dad's house for Christmas Eve. Jake was home & GM came over. We ate a great meal compliments of my Mommy! We played Dominos (which I just learned how to play, & now love!). Then, against my desire, we tackled Monopoly. Just not a big fan of the game cause it takes sooo long. But it was fun. Daddy basically ran the board & Jake was back & forth. GM did really good too. It came down to those 3 & they finally just called a 3 way tie when it hit around 11pm and we had been playing for hours lol. Mom had been the 1st out, then J, then me. So, it was time for me & J to head home (allll the way across the street lol). The boys we're pooped & crashed as soon as we got home. J wanteded me to open a gift that was from "Santa", even though we WERE NOT supposed to do gifts this year w/ the baby coming & money tight...but of course he broke the rules! He got me/us a video camera! I was shocked & I'm so happy to have it for the birth! I had been wanting one but figured we'de have to wait til March or April to get one. It's so tiny & easy to use & I just love it! We headed to bed & woke up Christmas morn to open our stockings. Lots of fun goodies & once again of course J went overboard to say the least! I love him! Then we headed back to Mom & Dad's for a great breakfast, gifts, stockings & Mom's bday! She's 53! We plaed more Dominos, Trivial Pursuit, Seinfeld Scene It & Taboo (which was a blast!). Then it was back home again. I was sad that it was all over but so thankful for the birth of Jesus, my awesome family & husband and our son on the way! It was the best Chrstmas yet! Mine & J's 3rd one together...many more to come...w/ many more memories w/ our baby boy! How exciting! Well, this got a lil longer than I anticipated so I'll end here w/ our 21 wk belly shots.

20 wks!

Hey Hey Hey! We have hit the halfway point...20 weeks! We turned 20 wks on Sun the 14th. I can now say that I definitely look pregnant now. Before I can see where ppl might wonder "Hmmm, is she preggo or does she just have a lil gut???". But now, it's pretty darn obvious! Jason jokes that since I've turned 25 I've let myself go...I'm gaining weight & I have a gut...lol :-) He's so funny! Went & had our 20 weeks anatomy US on Mon the 15th and everything looked great! His HR was 154. He was pretty calm & not wiggling around too much, but he was in a good position for the tech to get all the measurements she needed so that was good. I had a Dr's app. after the US but they just checked my urine, BP & weight. I have gained approx 10 lbs so far so I think I'm doing good. I'm actually ready to gain more (I'm sure I'll feel differently once I do lol!). We head up to VA this w/e for Christmas w/ the Gibson side of the family which we are excited about, but we're also sad we'll miss seeing J's mom & Bill :-( Gonna be a long drive but we're stopping halfway in Raleigh, NC on the way up to stay w/ our friends Scott, Brenda & their son Will. I can't believe Christmas is in a week! Lil Gib's furniture should be here early next week too so I am SO excited about that! We're planning on painting the nursery the w/e after Christmas...well, let me rephrase that...I'm planning on J painting the nursery the w/e after Christmas ha ha! I will supervise. We're going w/ a pale banana yellow since it's an accent color in the bedding which I got for my bday. It's too cute & I love the jungle theme! Well, I'll post again when we get back from our trip w/ 21 wk belly shots, but for now, here are our 20 wk shots. Oh, forgot to mention that I just noticed last week that I am starting to get the linea nigra (or black line) that lots of pregnant women get on their belly's. It's so subtle & you can barely see it in person & really can't at all yet in pics, but it's there. I guess it'll continue to get darker, but should fade after the birth. Doesn't bother me, I kinda like it b/c it's like the "mark of pregnancy". Lots of love!

I turned 25 years old as Lil Gib turned 19 wks!

So I had a wonderful 25th bday w/ my awesome family. We went to Chef Lees for dinner & enjoyed a great meal! We all left very full, but not miserably full. J, Puddy & Cramer got me my big Snoogle body pillow. Not crazy about it right now b/c I'm still pretty comfy sleeping on both sides & my back, but hoping it will come in handy in the months to come. It's a big ole pillow & J claims he's gonna use it if I dont lol! Mom, Dad & GM (Grandmother) got Baby G some stuff which was fun...that's the rule this year...no gifts for me or J...everything is for the baby! But, which in turn, really helps us out! We have our Christmas tree up (even though it's giftless lol) & our lights up outside which I'm so proud of! Oh yeah, big news...I THINK I felt the baby move today. J & I were just laying around on the couch watching tv w/ the dogs and I sneezed. Right afterward I felt this weird flutter or drumroll type sensation on my right side. It felt like him poking or kicking me real fast fro mthe inside. I kinda wondered but brushed it off at the time b/c I thought it was just too high up on my right side to have been the baby. But I had been prettty slouched on the couch. When I told my mom about it on the way to dinner, she was like "Oh, baby, that was him!" So I feel pretty confident that is WAS him! I'm ready to feel him more though, but I know that will come w/ time! Oh, and yes, the belly ring has come out. I took it out b/c it broke last week; the dangle part fell off. So I just figured I might as well leave it out even though I did find the piece that fell off. Here are some pics of our lights & bday & then our 19 week shots in front of the tree.

At Chef Lees for my bday dinner!

Back @ our house for cake & gifts for baby!

Mom had just got done showing me my baby book & that Care Bear was given to me on my very 1st Christmas back in 1983. I was as small as the bear!

My silly husband!

17 & 18 wk shots!

Hi all! Sorry I've been a slacker again! Thanksgiving was great & hope it was for all of you! We got our tree up but I'm still in the process of decorating it lol. This is my fav time of year! I LOVE Christmas time so much! Well, I still haven't felt him move & it's killing me! I wanna know he's in there! Went to the doc on the 24th & he was moving all around when the PA was checking his HB w/ doppler. His HR was 156. Still makes me tear up when I hear it...best sound in the whole world! I'm so in love w/ him & can't wait to meet him & get to know his personality. For those wondering, yes, he has a name (he's had it since before we got preggo lol), but we're *TRYING* to keep it a secret for fun! Anywho...here are wk 17 & 18 pics! I'm getting chunky...ahhhh!

Registries

Just wanted to let everyone know that we are registered at Babies-R-Us & Target. I'm stressing about finding the right stroller/travel system. So many choices! Going this w/e to finalize the registries, since I've done most of it online already. Our lil man's nursery will be jungle themed. The actual decor is called "Jungle Babies" by Nojo. We will be painting soon...so exciting!

Our 1st Wedding Anniversary!

I was so excited about announcing the news that we're having a boy that I completely forgot to tell you all about our awesome anniversary! It was just perfect! The weather was beautiful...cold, but beautiful! Just like our wedding day, but luckily, a year ago it was much warmer! So we started the day w/ lunch @ Jason's Deli cause I had a big craving for their chicken salad sandwich & fruit plate, which is what I get every single time I go. Then we headed to our appointment @ Baby Waves. You can read about the in the previous post ;-). Then after finding out our exciting news, it was time to go shopping for a boy! We went to Babies R Us and got 11 onsies/rompers. Then, to Campus Spirit b/c J was bound & determined to get him a little football lol, so luckily we found a little baby AU football! Then we went to Carter's just to look. Then, to Wal-Mart where we bought our 1st pack of Swaddler diapers, and another 9 onsies/rompers lol. Then, we headed to mom's office to show her all the US pics & the clothes we had bought. She was so giddy! When we left there we still had 2 hours before our movie, so figured we stop by Target. There we got 5 onsies/rompers & 3 pairs of lil socks. Time for dinner now & of course I was craving pizza! We didn't need a fancy meal to make our anniversary special, so we headed to Pizza Hut cause it's my fav! Love their breadsticks & cheese personal pan! We had great conversation over the mighty huge table b/w us lol. J said they have to make the tables big to accomodate the big pizzas...but I didn't like being so separated from him. Anywho, we headed back to Columbus park Crossing for our movie, but had a little time to spare to thought we'd hit up Old Navy to check out their baby stuff. Ended up getting a lil t-shirt & shorts there. Then it was to the movie finally lol. We saw "FireProof" & it was just awesome. Such a great message. Of course I cried. I felt like we both learned from the movie which was nice. I recommend it to all married couples! Throughout the day, we made various phone calls & texts to friends & family to tell them the sex. Oh, and by the way, before you think we went a lil overboard w/ all the rompers & onesies...just know that mostly everything we bought was on clearance which was great b/c we need warm weather clothes since our baby boy is due in May, but the stores need to make room for cold weather clothes now. So we lucked up! After the movie, I came home to a whole buncha purple & silver Happy Anniversary balloons (26 to be exact lol) & a bubble bath & massage. Then we ate cake from our wedding & watched the DVD w/ all our wedding photos. It was a great great day & I'm so thankful for my husband & I have a new-found respect for him! I can't wait to see him be a daddy to our 1st baby boy! We look forward to many many many more anniversaries!

Almond Joy's got nuts...Mounds don't!

Well, we got an Almond Joy! Yep, I have a sweet baby boy in my belly! Baby Waves was awesome. The women were so sweet. She saw the sex right away...within 30 seconds, before J or I even realized she was looking for it! She slipped J the Almond Joy to give to me. It was so much fun! The 4D US is so amazing, even though he still looks like a cross between a baby & an alien right now lol. The woman said it's b/c there's really no fat on him yet. But when we go back @ 31 weeks, that's when we'll see the chubby cheeks, and the nose & get to decide who he looks like...me or J! He was justa movin' and a shakin' around in my uterus though. He was even laying like me! With his arms up and hands behind his head. And a few different times, when I would bring an arm down to reposition myself, we would notcie that he had brought an arm down too. This happened quite a few times...so it seems like he is already a Momma's boy!!! :-D At one point he was even playing w/ himself...haha...it was pretty funny! This may sound strange to most of you, but I'm going to write it anyway: It was the coolest thing seeing his "wee wee"! I don't know why, but that was so special to me...made it so real that he's my lil baby boy! I guess b/c that "lil thing" is what defines him as being a boy & not a girl & that is what you look for so you can know! I had hopes for a girl to be honest, mainly b/c all the girly stuff is so fun & cutesie, but once I saw his "stuff" my heart just fell in love w/ my lil man! Ok, so now you all probably think I'm a weirdo! It gives me a sense of calmness now knowing who is in my stomach...no more wondering...it's definitely a boy...no doubt about it, as you can see from the pics!!!
You know the old saying " A daughter is a daughter for her entire life, a son is only a son til he takes a wife" ? If any of you have ever seen the movie "Monster In Law" w/ Jane Fonda & Jennifer Lopez...let's just say I actually get it now. I get how it's hard for a mom to let go of her baby boy...seems like you never have to let go of your baby girl, but boys you do. Wow, so yeah, I'm already thinking about 20 years down the road lol! Ok, I'll put this one to rest!

16 weeks!

Hello all! I can't believe it...16 weeks today & time to find out if this lil person in my belly will pee standing up or sitting down! We go tom for our gender determination US & we couldn't be more excited! It's gonna be a great day & a great 1st wedding anniversary for J & I. Here are tonight's belly shots, & I decided now's the time to start doing front shots since my belly's pokin' out & rounding our more that you can see from the front. I will be back either tom or Tue to let everyone know...boy or girl?!?!?

Baby bump pics in Orlando!

Ok, so I couldn't resist posting a few cuz I just love my bump! Can you tell I love being preggo??? My body's changing that's for sure, and some women may not like it, but I am embracing it & really enjoying it!!! I figure I'll worry about my figure afterward...no need to waste this special time w/ my precious baby in my belly worrying about it now! Anywho, here's a few more pics:

At Magic Kingdom in front of Minnie's house, w/ my monster shirt on for Halloween lol!

At Sea World after seeing "Discover" w/ Shamu.

Watching the dolphins play at Sea World, w/ my lil ghost shirt on for Halloween!

Sorry it's been so long...

Well, here I am finally posting after 2 weeks. Sorry...guess I'm not the best blogger lol. We had a great time together in Orlando. Went to Downtown Disney, Magic Kingdom & Sea World (which was the best). Bought the baby a couple onesies, a burp cloth & a couple stuff animals which was fun. Sooo, we are 15 weeks today, which means only 1 week & 1 day til our anniversary & til we find out who's in my belly!!! What do you think? Boy or girl??? I must admit, I have the HUGEST (is that a word???) huntch that it's a girl! Everything I think about is girl girl girl. Of course I do want a lil baby girl & feel like that is who is inside me, but I do want a boy ultimately as well. I just can't wait for our appontment at Baby Waves a week from tom. It's at 2 pm. J & I are going to make a day out of it. Lunch, Baby Waves, go buy him or her some clothes or something fun like that, then dinner & a movie. Sounds like fun huh? We're going to keep it to ourselves for the day too; just to make it a extra special...then of course we'll tell EVERYONE! Ugh, I'm hoping this week won't go by as slowly as I feel it will. I was a slacker last week & never posted my 14 week pics, so here they are along w/ tonight's pics @ 15 weeks. By the way, if you want to see pics from Orlando (which I will upload soon), just visit my myspace page @ http://www.myspace.com/sarah3589. I feel like my belly doesn't look as big in these pics as it does in real life. Is that weird? It actually looks much bigger from my point of view (looking down at it) then it does from the side. I'm so ready for it to really pop!
:-)
